The Center for Excellence in Math and Science will:

Develop and deliver programs designed to increase the quality and quantity of the student talent pool pursuing curricula in math, science and related technical fields...

In a way that:

-Recognizes and addresses the critical role of educational excellence;
-Leverages the resources of the RAC institutions beyond the sum of the parts;
-Engages students, parents, teachers, administrators, counselors and mentors;
-Leverages existing local and national best-practices;
-Addresses the critical need to increase the participation of women; people of color and people with disabilities in careers in math, science and related technologies;
-Engages the public and governmental officials ...

So that:

The supply of U.S. technically trained citizens is sufficient to assure our global economic competitiveness and national security.

Vision

As a result of the Center for Excellence in Math and Science, the Rochester, New York, region is nationally recognized for innovative and effective education of young scientists, engineers, and mathematicians and their teachers.
